Punta Gorda Middle School (PGMS) is a place of rigor, respect, and relationships. Academics
PGMS is a place of academic rigor and excellence. Students have the opportunity to take advanced classes, such as honors and advanced placement courses. Students are also given the chance to participate in after-school and summer programs, such as the National Junior Honor Society, the National Honor Society, and the Duke University Talent Search. In addition, PGMS provides a variety of clubs and activities to help students develop their interests and passions, such as the Robotics Club, the Drama Club, and the Spanish Club.
Athletics
At PGMS, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports, from basketball to volleyball to soccer. The school also hosts a variety of competitive tournaments throughout the year, such as the county-wide tournament for basketball and the state tournament for soccer. PGMS also provides students with access to a variety of fitness and health classes, such as aerobics and yoga.
